Google Maps provides a nifty way to determine either the latitude/longitude of a location, or distances between two points.
Latitude/Longitude
This is easy. Point to any place on a map, then right click. Choose “What’s Here?” from the pop up menu and you will get a small window with the latitude and longitude reported.
Distances
Right-click on your starting point. Choose Measure distance. Click anywhere on the map to create a path you want to measure.
Convert Statute Miles to Nautical Miles
1 statute mile = 0.87 nautical miles. There are lots of converters on line (here is one), or use a calculator.
